Transcriptomic response of human skin explants after exposure to urban pollutants:

Numerous clinical and epidemiological studies have highlighted the harmful effects of environmental pollutants on health (http://www.who.int/airpollution/data, Mancebo, SE, Wang, SQ Recognizing the impact of air pollution on skin health (2015) J. Eur Acad Dermatol, Venere 29, 2326-2332).

Insofar as the skin is constantly exposed to pollution, the creation of new products or the screening of new ingredients that protect the skin from the negative impacts of pollution responds to a real demand from the cosmetics industry.
As a result, the development of specialized tests to evaluate the effectiveness of these compounds or finished products is required.
To respond to the issues raised, our team has integrated an FUI projet: URBASKIN to study the cutaneous physiological response to urban pollutants.

Following the work of the R & D team, we have set up a customized PCR array (StressosomeArray) including gene markers that offers you the possibility to evaluate the protective effects of your cosmetics against a simple stress or a combination of stresses (pollutants, blue light, UVA, UVB, cigarette smoke, ...).
